Geography
In Year 1, children begin to explore the world around them through exciting and practical geography lessons. They learn to use simple maps and develop their understanding of directions and symbols before investigating different types of weather and the changing seasons. Later in the year, children compare the human and physical features of their local village with those of Shanghai, helping them to recognise similarities and differences between places and develop a wider understanding of the world.
