7.30 am to 8.50 am Monday to Friday (term time only)
The Breakfast Club aims:
• to support working parents by providing a high quality service which meets the needs of both parents/carers and children
• to provide a reliable, safe, supportive and welcoming environment where children can play, have fun, relax and be with friends
• to make sure the breakfast we offer is healthy and gives children a good start to the school day
The Breakfast Club will provide:
• a healthy breakfast with a choice of cereal or toast (porridge or crumpets are offered in the winter) plus a choice of fruit juice, milk or water
• activities after breakfast – such as drawing, board games, crafts, play or a quiet area where the children can work if they wish
• respect for any dietary, religious or medical requirements
• a high standard of care in a secure and supportive environment. We want children to feel relaxed and happy before starting the school day
• opportunities to support learning (by helping with homework and reading)
Staffing: Our Breakfast Club Assistants are DBS checked and have certificates in Food Hygiene.
Routine: Children should arrive from 7.30 am; no responsibility will be taken for children arriving before this time. Entrance to the Breakfast Club is by the school’s front door. Parents are required to hand their children over to the Club staff. If any KS2 children are making their own way to the Club, this must be stated in their registration form.
At 8:35am a member of Breakfast Club staff will take the Breakfast Club Children out on to the playground to meet and socialise with their friends. Breakfast Club Children will remain in the care of the Breakfast Club staff until 8:40am when they will be taken into the main school. Key Stage 1 children will be escorted to their classrooms whilst Key Stage 2 children will be allowed to line up with their classes. Breakfast is served until 8.25am. We are able to take children from Pre-school aged 4 up to Year 6.
