Our Curriculum
English
The first text we will be reading will be 'The Wolf's Story'. We will be spending time exploring a familiar fairy tale from a different perspective. Our initial focus will be practicing and embedding the skills we learnt in Year 2 moving on to creating our own alternative version of the story.
Maths
We start the year, as we always do, with place value. We will be looking at three digit numbers- comparing them, ordering them and placing them on a numberline.
Alongside this we will be focusing on Measure - gaining an understanding of m, cm and mm and their relation to each other.
After this, we will be learning more formal methods of addition and subtraction of numbers up to three digits long.
Geography/ History
We start the Autumn term with Geography where we will be learning about Volcanoes, the earth's layers, earthquakes and the effects to people living near volcanoes.
