Watch the clip 'Book of butterflies' and use it as a writing stimulus for your own  story about a book that came to life!

Use lots of description to start your story by describing the boring, grey room. Then describe how the book opens and the room is transformed.

Try and adapt the story to make it your own. Other animals could come out of the book - what would happen if lions and tigers came out of the book into the classroom? What would happen if fish came out? - you would have to scoop them up quickly and put them into a tank, etc.

The possibilities are endless.

Make sure you use the best adjectives to describe your setting and animals. When you are finished, check for full stops and capital letters and make sure you have applied your spelling rules. Then you can create some lovely artwork to go alongside your story!

Enjoy writing your own 'Book of fish' or 'Book of sheep' and make sure you email me your final stories so I can post them here! 414.kestrel@educ.somerset.gov.uk smiley
