Westonzoyland Primary School ‘Achieving, Learning and Growing Together’

Week beg Monday 15th June

Following on from the success of Superworm story last week, we are continuing with the insect/mini beasts theme and we are reading the story of The Hungry Caterpillar.

Please look on the Memos tab on Tapestry to see The Hungry Caterpillar story read by Mrs Morris

Some fun home learning activities for you to try at home, have fun;

  • What food did the Hungry Caterpillar eat? Think about which foods were healthy/unhealthy
  • Could you collect some leaves and make holes in them so you can thread string or a pipe cleaner through it to make  it look like a caterpillar has munched through them.
  • What bugs can you find in your garden? How many were there? Can you take a photo of them.
  • Twinkl.co.uk has lots of resources that can be used free of charge at present-just type in "hungry caterpillar" in the search bar.

Lots of Home Learning fun with The Hungry Caterpillar activities, sorting healthy food that the Caterpillar are, counting food, making marks and  looking for bugs/insects in your garden or local area.
