Today is the Queen's birthday, so you might want to have a go at some of these activities.
Can you find out some interesting facts - I have uploaded a fact file template if you would like to use it, or maybe make a little book of facts.
Design or make a birthday cake for the Queen.
Colour a Union flag.
Zog - Julia Donaldson
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bwdw8y/zog - video retelling story of Zog
Can you retell the story to a family member in sequence?
How many words can you write that rhyme with Zog? (they can be real or unreal (alien)
Draw a picture of a dragon and label (wings, claws, fire, flames, nostrils, eye, tail, scales) using your sounds.
Describe your own dragon, or Zog, either with captions or sentences
E.g sharp claws, long tail, scaly skin, enormous wings
Draw a story map of the main events. Use this to write a sentence for the beginning, middle and end of the story, remembering your full stops and finger spaces. Use your phonic mat to have a go at the spelling yourself.
Count gems - these could be special stones or shells you have found, silver paper balls, buttons
Make a flying dragon and see how far it can fly. - Measure using a stick, steps, or something else!
Make a special food that you think Zog would like - measure out the ingredients, and lots of mixing and chopping carefully with a knife.
Make stick puppets of the main characters, cutting them out really carefully.
Make a dragon - perhaps using egg boxes, tissue, card, playdoh, pipecleaners
Paint a picture of your own dragon design.
Create a dragon cave - perhaps under the kitchen table!
Design and make a dragon's egg.
Cook something using eggs, perhaps a cake or a quiche.
Design or make a dragon's lair.
