This week the BBC are supporting us in our approach to home learning by making educational TV programmes supporting the national curriculum particularly in the areas of Maths and English daily. Where possible, I would like the children in Buzzard class to watch these programmes for the first week of Summer term. During this week I would be grateful for feedback from you all so that I can evaluate whether we think they are effective and engage the children at home. I will also be tuning in on Monday to see what they have to offer and how I can extend the children’s learning with further activities based upon what is covered by the BBC. The BBC are working with the White Rose Maths programme, which is the scheme followed at school, to design age appropriate material. During the first week I will also be learning how this way of learning will work and how to easily access the materials provided by the BBC. I have attached the BBC bitesize website for Monday, the article I have added provides some more information about these daily lessons.
I received an email from Archie that has truly shown what kind, caring and compassionate children we are lucky enough to have in Buzzard class. Archie has made a rainbow for an elderly neighbour and displayed this in his house for them to see. The man noticed what he had done and wrote Archie a letter to thank him for his kindness. Archie has been writing back to his new friend and pen pal.
What an amazing act of kindness, we are so very proud of you Archie, you will have made a big impact on your neighbour in these times!
After receiving this email, I would like to challenge you to come up with a list of random acts of kindness and to choose one each day to brighten someone’s day.
