Westonzoyland Primary School ‘Achieving, Learning and Growing Together’

Hi Ospreys,

TTRS UPDATE: WE DID IT!!! Well done to each and every one of you who has worked incredibly hard over the past week! Hobby class put up a good fight but we managed to overtake them and keep up our lead!

I hope you have had a positive start to the week. This week’s Zoom call is actually going to be tomorrow at 11am! This is because on Friday it is a bank holiday and on Thursday I will be working in school and so can’t hold one then. Like last time, I will send an email out to your parents today. I hope lots of you can make it!!

Today I want you to think back to the pictures you saw and the research that you completed yesterday. Have a think about what that day would have felt like. Imagine you were a child who had been evacuated to the countryside, who had not seen your family in years. Maybe imagine you were a soldier, fighting tirelessly for our country and you have just heard the news that you are finally allowed home.

Today I would like you to write a Diary entry from VE Day. I have uploaded a template in case it helps.

Year 5s, today I have a few different types of tables for you to look at, read them carefully!

Year 4s, a bit of a revision lesson today: rounding to 10, 100 and 1000. Think back to our rounding lessons carefully and use the clues on the sheets to help you!

This week's activity is to make a kindness jar.

Decorate a jam jar and fill it with acts of kindness. Every time someone in your household does something kind, write it down and put it in the jar. This time next week, we will look inside the jars and find all of the kind, helpful things you and your families have been up to.
