Good morning, Kestrels! Thank you for your hard work yesterday! Below are your activities and challenges to complete for today…enjoy! 

English

Spelling/Grammar

Homophones are words which sound the same but have different spellings and meanings.

 

Here is a list of words. Can you find the homophones and match them up? E.g. where & wear

Now choose some of your homophones and write sentences to show their different meanings. How many sentences can you write? *Challenge – Use adverbs in your sentences e.g. slowly

 

Reading/ Writing activity

Read the text ‘Farmyard Babies’ Remember to write the answers in a full sentence. Mark your work using the answer sheet provided.

Fluency

Can you practise your 5 times table? Ask an adult to test you on them in different orders e.g. 2 x 5 = ?  9 x 5 = ?   11 x 5 = ?

Sing-a-long with this video to remind you how to count to 10 in French. Can you count backwards from 10 as well?

Now I would like you to go on a scavenger hunt. Can you find:

  • huit socks
  • deux pieces of fruit
  • quatre cups or mugs
  • six books
  • neuf objects that can fit in your hand (at the same time)

 

*Extra challenge – cinq objects that are the colour verte

 

Make sure you send me a picture of the things that you find on your scavenger hunt!
