Westonzoyland Primary School ‘Achieving, Learning and Growing Together’

Celebrating our learning

Friday 3rd July

Well done to our stars of the week Joel, Georgia and Annabelle. ⭐️ These children have all been chosen for their hard work and fantastic attitude to learning this week. Joel has come back to school and has been positive, hard working, and conscientious upon his return. Georgia and Annabelle have been putting lots of work into their writing this week and have made myself, Mrs Hall and Mrs Bell extremely proud of how much they have progressed over the year. 🦸🏼‍♀️ They produced a piece of writing on their superheroes that highlighted their focus, attention to detail, effort and creative flair. We continue to be extremely proud of all the children and how well they have managed this period smiley. It is a joy to see them back in school and to receive lovely emails from those who are at home.

Friday 26th June

Well done to our amazing stars of the week Leia and Charlie B! We are so proud of how well you have adapted back to school life and your fantastic attitude to learning. Leia has brightened up our bubble every day and has worked extremely hard putting her best into everything she does. 🌞 Charlie B has also been working very hard in his bubble to add detail to his writing and to do his best work. ✏️ We are so proud of you both, you continue to make us smile each day! 🌈 ⭐️

Friday 19th June

We are so proud of the children and everything they are doing and it was just too hard to only pick two stars this week. ⭐️ Therefore we have chosen three different children for varying reasons. Charlie.H has been so enthusiastic this week getting his whole family involved in our virtual sports week and it has been so lovely seeing them all take on the challenges. He has also been extremely motivated and worked so hard during home learning persevering when things are sometimes difficult. Abigail has also been chosen for her attitude at school, she has worked hard to perfect her handwriting, she is paying great attention and is focusing on her developing some fantastic maths skills. Well done Mademoiselle Molly for mastering continuing to master French and her accent and for using this in and out of the classroom. She is also brightening up her bubble with her infectious smile and positive attitude. 🌞🌈

Friday 12th June

Well done Isaac and Oliver who are our stars of the week! Mrs Bell and Mrs Hall choose Isaac this week because of how kind, caring and helpful he has been in Rainbow Bubble Monkeys this week. He has done all these things without expecting anything in return and has helped his brother transition back to school. I choose Oliver this week because of his fantastic attitude to learning, last week he struggled finding motivation and focused, but he didn't give up and worked hard to get back on track. His family are so proud of him and the work he is doing and we are too! Well done both of you on a great week ⭐️.

Well done to our star readers this week! Everyone has been very busy on bug club which is lovely to see. We have ten awards this week, what an awesome job Buzzard Class.

Friday 22nd May

Well done Summer and Leo our stars of the week! You have both worked very hard over the last couple of months and we want to celebrate this and you. We are really proud of you both.

Friday 15th May

Well done to our two stars of the week Molly and Lily! This week we have chosen these children because they have been taking an independent approach to their home learning and have shown their dedication and conscientious attitude to learning. We are very proud of how you have both adapted during this time and how you have dealt with the challenges posed by learning from home so well!

This week I have added our reading awards as a word document so you can print them easily!

Well done to Archie, Matthew, Annabelle, Leo, Molly and Ella. Keep up the amazing reading. smiley

Thursday 7th May

This week we have two stars of the week Charlie. H and Ella. We have chosen these children for their persistence and perseverance during home learning. I have seen some fantastic work this week from both of the children who really enjoyed our story and the activities based around this. I have also been pleased with their attitude to their work, it is clear that they have put hard work into their learning and have taken pride in their work. We are very proud of you and everyone else sending in their amazing photos of the different things they are doing at home.

Friday 1st May

We have chosen three stars of the week today as it has been so hard to pick just two! We are celebrating these children for their great attitude to learning in particular to the books we have chosen to base our topic work around. I loved the different creations that these three children made this week. They certainly highlighted the hard work the children have put into their projects and the time they are spending on their home learning. We loved to celebrate these children in our weekly zoom session, thank you Buzzard class for giving our stars a big clap ☺️. Keep up the great work, lots of you are so close to getting our star of the week. We are very proud of you all!  ⭐️

Friday 24th April

We have awarded two stars of the week this week. Again it has been a very hard choice. We have decided to celebrate these children not just because of the learning they are doing but because of how thoughtful and caring they have been during this situation. I have been so impressed with the emails I have received from the class sharing the kind things you have all been doing over the last couple of weeks! We continue to be extremely proud of each member of Buzzard class. I will now be setting up zoom video calls to deliver our stars of the week on Friday afternoon!

Friday 24th April

Good afternoon everyone and another big well done for everyone reading on bug club, listening to lovely stories your parents are reading and engaging with our story topic!  I know that I have a few children who are receiving reading awards most weeks, this is because I am tracking on bug club and using emails to help choose my readers. Please send me an email to update me on your children's reading so I can celebrate everything you are doing :)

Friday 3rd April

I have awarded three stars of the week this week. It has been extremely hard to choose just two, as I have been so impressed with everything you have been doing at home! Please keep up the amazing work. I am so proud of all of you.

Friday 3rd April

Well done to everyone for keeping up with their reading. I have been using emails sent and bug club to help decide who to give my reading awards to this week. Keep reading!

Friday 27th March

This week we have 3 stars of the week. This is because last week we could not give out a star of the week, so I have decided to give this one online!

Well done Leo, Oliver and Matthew- I have been super impressed with your attitude to learning and how well you have managed this week. Keep up the amazing work!

I am sending a huge virtual clap to these boys and I hope you will all do the same ☺️.

Friday 27th March

Well done Lily, Ted, Annabelle, Molly and Jack. B on your fantastic reading this week!

I hope you continue to read lots over the next couple of weeks. I cannot wait to hear about the books you have read when we come back to school!

Another massive virtual clap to you all 👏🏽.

Miss Crowe

Every Friday I am going to be choosing not one but two stars of the week! I have decided to choose two because it is one of the only ways I can celebrate your learning from afar. I also want to try and recognise as many children as possible who are getting in touch showing me their fantastic home learning. I am also going to be giving reading awards based on what you are doing on bug club :) I hope this is a good way of celebrating the amazing work you are all doing at home.
