At Westonzoyland, we provide the children with opportunities to acquire an understanding of the uses of ICT and to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding relevant to adult life and employment in an ever-changing world.
Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard with internet access, and the children have access to laptops and Ipads, where they are able to use wide range of applications to enhance and extend their learning in all areas of the curriculum. The school also has a class set of ‘Lego WeDo’ activity kits, which allows the children to develop their programming skills in a cross curricular and engaging way.
E-Safety forms an important part of computing provision, with termly lessons and assemblies making sure that the children are aware of how to keep themselves safe when on the Internet.
Children use their computing skills to research and present information; improve their understanding of how the internet works, as well as developing their knowledge and experience of programming algorithms.
