15th May 2017 Today, we went on an expedition to the outdoor learning area. We used four out of our five senses to discover what we could hear, see, smell and feel. We then used our knowledge and abilities to construct super sentences using adjectives and imagery.

Monday 27th March 2017 Today was ‘Mystery Monday’ and Buzzard Class have let their imagination run wild. Our Mystery item was a little brass pot and we have been busy making clay pots and lollypop stick puppets as well as giving brass rubbing a go. As this event is completely child initiated with their own ideas Buzzards decided to go down the wizards, witches, spells and potions route… it was great to see all the fantastic independent work the children have done today.

On Friday 17th March 2017, we had Secret World come in for a visit as part of our ‘superhero’ topic. The children were informed of the fantastic work the staff at Secret World carry out in order to save the lives of thousands of animals every year. They enjoyed getting up close to a small number of animals including Star the Tawny Owl and Cheeky the polecat ferret!!

Following on from discovering Buzzard Class had a mysterious character who ‘stole’ the silver trophy with the golden pig inside, the children have been following leads and bringing potential suspects in for questioning. We had great fun further developing our questioning skills and ‘hot-seating’ Miss Hale along with other staff members.

17th January 2017 We have been busy practicing our skills in descriptive language and listening. In partner groups, one person had to describe details to the other. They then used the description to draw a picture. We had some very interesting art work in Buzzard class today.
